Great free fun activities
for home or school
There are plenty of fun things to do that don't require you to spend any money at all. Here are some that I've enjoyed (and continue
to enjoy). They're free, fun, and (as far as I know) none are or
ever were copyrighted, trademarked, or even marketed. Take a look
and try some! If you know of any others, send us an e-mail, and we'll add them to the list.
All-Day Games
An all day game? Have I lost my mind? No. These games are played over the course
of a day (or maybe several days) in the background, while you go about living
your normal life. They can really spice up a slow weekend or just add another
dimension of fun to your every-day life. Both are my own creation (although
I'm sure other people have thought of them as well) and I really enjoy them
a lot.
Car Games
We've all been there, and we'll probably all be there again: riding
in a car for hours on end with nothing to do but watch the world go by. Try
one of these classic car games instead. It's a great way to turn a tedious drive
into something fun and challenging. All of these could be played anywhere, but
are particularly well suited to times when you have nothing else to do. We've
put the rules to all of them on one page, so that you can print it, fold it
up and put in your glove compartment.
Anytime, Anyplace Tabletop Games
These are games that can be played just about anywhere that you have a flat
surface. Requiring a minimum of props, and a bit of manual dexterity, they are
quite fun. Quarter basketball is my own personal favorite.
Seasonal and Outdoor Games
Covered with snow? Don't know what to do? I remember that feeling (I didn't
always live in Florida). Here is a game that we used to play a lot. Be careful,
though, it involves a lot of running around on slippery snow.
